Chennai Super Kings Face Setback with Gaikwad's Injury
Chennai: The Chennai Super Kings have suffered a significant setback as their captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has been sidelined from the IPL due to an elbow injury. This unfortunate turn of events has led to the return of Mahendra Singh Dhoni to the captaincy role.
CSK's head coach, Stephen Fleming, confirmed the news during a press briefing on Thursday.
"Ruturaj Gaikwad is out of the IPL due to a fracture in his elbow. MS Dhoni will step in as captain," Fleming stated.
Gaikwad's injury occurred when he was struck by a short delivery from Jofra Archer.
